You Don't Cut Your Own Hair, Do You?
Or… a few words on my role as your coach

I believe each of us has within us all the wisdom, goodness, and strength we need to be, do, and have what we truly want. We're designed to be at our best when we have an outside guide to help us access those inner resources.

There's a teaching story in which the people in hell are starving at the banquet because they can't eat with their 12' long chopsticks, but the people in heaven are thriving because they are feeding each other. In the same way, I have learned that the presence of an interested but unattached other is what helps us thrive. Our need for that other – heck, let's go ahead and call her a coach! – is a beautiful thing, not a personal failing. It keeps us learning, helps us see our blind spots, and reminds us that life and work are about process, not perfection.

Flip this awareness around, and we have to realize that the person in the role of coach is not, and does not need to be, some far-and-away superior sage or guru. My commitment is simply to take the role of coach in your world and to walk this path of success and spirit by your side.
