HOW WE'LL WORK

Coaching relationships are unique partnerships focused on the client. Coaching with me is a singularly delicious experience. Some of the facets of our work include:

Our calls:
When we agree to work together, I'll become a part of your personal advisory board. Twice a month, we'll schedule a call during which you will bring to the table anything you're currently facing and/or continuations of our work on your specific goals. Calls often include:

  • Holding up the mirror: investigating how your business and life situations reflect your inner world back to you
  • Strategizing around obstacles: addressing problems and challenges you face, at work and at home, with fresh perspectives, unexpected angles, and exercises that access your gut-level wisdom
  • Celebrating and contextualizing wins: building upon victories by linking them with your learning and your goals and translating wins from one area to other areas of life
  • Discussing learnings and spiritual growth: exploring the outcomes of your practices and training you in a variety of spiritual skills if you so desire
  • Working with fear and excitement: due to your continual growth, both in your business and personally, you'll probably be experiencing fear and excitement almost perpetually, and support will help you live happily with these companions and use them to your advantage.

I am available to you at any time (8:30 – 5pm Pacific, Monday through Friday) and return calls and e-mails within 24 hours (often closer to 24 minutes!).

Clients tell me they leave our calls feeling full, comforted, inspired, challenged, clear, joyful, refreshed, and empowered. They know where they're going, and what they'll do and how they'll be to get there.

Your CD:
I'll record each call onto an audio CD. You'll receive this disc in the mail a few days after our call. As you listen to the call again in the week after the call, our conversation will speak to you in new ways and deepen the value of the call itself.

Your Goals:
We'll start our partnership by setting some specific 3-month goals, with the inner changes you'll be making to bring those goals to fruition. These goals are probably no-brainers, as they're likely the reason you came to work with me in the first place. As soon as you reach those goals to your satisfaction (maybe in fewer than three months), we'll engage in a deeper goal-setting process so that you create a vision of where you're headed longer-term and we both have a sense of the personal transformations you're choosing to create.

Your "Performance Review" (don't that just make ya' nervous?):
People without bosses really miss out on candid, constructive feedback. Not when you work with me! Every three months, we'll schedule a bonus call, on me, where we'll both bring our assessment of your progress, inside and out, over the past quarter. I'll give you my take on where you've been and where you're headed.

Your Practices:
One of the best ways to support our goals is to establish a contemplative or centering practice, so I will guide you to create a practice that's uniquely yours if you don't have one already. My own practices include meditation, yoga, releasing, prayer, and breathwork. Yours might include some of these elements, and/or journaling, gratitude reflections, intention setting, intuition practice, mindful exercise (or mindful cooking or lovemaking or just about anything!) and more. From the straightforward to the esoteric, I'll coach you to find and engage in one or more practices that bring you back to yourself, your spirit, your purpose, and your business' highest ideals every day.

Tracking:
Many clients choose to e-mail me before each session with an update on their life, business, and goals since our last call and what they want out of this conversation. They also often e-mail after our call to capture for us both their greatest insight from the call, the actions they'll be taking, and coaching for me on how to coach them even better. I provide templates to guide both these e-mails, with simple questions that make checking in easy and fruitful. Some clients also choose to e-mail me each week, even when we don't have a call scheduled, as a way of checking in on projects or personal reflections they're engaged in. I reply to these messages with my thoughts and questions.

My Coaching Standards
The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the independent governing body and association of this nascent profession called coaching. Coaching is a distinct profession, with its own competencies, training programs, and professional standards. I am certified by the ICF as a Professional Certified Coach. I have over 300 hours of coaching-specific professional training, over 2000 client hours of experience, and over 500 hours of experience training other coaches. My clients receive copies of two documents you can access now: The International Coach Federation Standards and Ethics and my coaching standards.
